Description
Likely the rarest of all Walking Liberty half Double dies! 1933s Double die 001 STAGE C. 1 of 1 known. This is the actual stage 3 discovery coin. Fully attributed by James Wiles. The attribution is viewable on his page called Variety Vista. Images of this unique Stage C double die on his website are in fact this same coin. i have a attached a few to the listing. There are many more on his page. Please seethe dAta chart on this die variety below. It took me about 15 years to locate this die stage with constand looking. Locating it in PCGS MS63 was just awesome.
Above the data data chart you will find the CONECA attribution data. I shows only 3 known in all die stages the other 2 being stage B and none in stage A. As you can see the stage C is not even listed yet as it has just been discovered and this is the actual discovery coin and no others are known in stage C!
I have 2 others in stage B in circulated grades. This is an exceddingly difficult double die to locate.
